ITS FREE

With financial times being hard and more and more people becoming unemployed , things are looking a little grim.  For some they are really struggling, however there are some people out there who are just cutting back and keeping their fingers crossed.  In any case, no matter who you are or what type of life you are living, there obviously have to be some changes with prices rising and less and less companies and people being able to keep their heads above water.  Well, I have just come across some very good ideas for getting things and and giving them away for nothing.  I have found a web site called freecycle.org, and this site does listings for people just giving things away.  The things that people are getting rid of vary from home furnishings to bags of old newspapers, and the most amazing thing is that pretty much everything goes.  There is also a way to put on what you are looking for, however you are only encouraged to put a wanted ad up about once a week.  This site is really for those looking to unload.  Some things are old, but some are in excellent shape and the best thing they are all absolutely free for the picking up.  The groups on this site are divided up into areas and so you choose an area close to where you live, so that you can easily exchange with others in your area.  It is incredible.  I have only been a member for a few days, and there are lots of good things that have been listed just in that short a period.

This site is not meant to barter or trade, it is solely for those looking to give away stuff, or get stuff for free.  Some of the best items I have i got for free and that was even before joining this site.  For instance a friend of mine was getting rid of the stuff in her father’s house for him, and I got a chest freezer for free and had it delivered and put in place for nothing also.  I also got a couch for nothing, a dining room set for free, and got a foosball table in exchange for some massage chairs one time.  There are lots of opportunities available, and this site helps put them all together.  So be sure to tell your family and friends to get online and check it out.

A Season for Giving

Salvation Army Donation

We all know that the financial status of the country and the world, is grim at best.  In these trying economic times it is important to remember that there are people who are worse off than you are, and it is definitely a time for giving.  Giving is not just something that you do for others, but also for yourself.  With so many people falling on tough times, it is important that as we go through this holiday season we remember that things could be worse.  If you are lucky enough to have friends and family to spend the holidays with and you have a few gifts under the tree, then be sure to give back.  You never know when you will need help, so giving can be a very important thing.  We all hope that if we are ever hit hard enough that there will be someone willing to lend a hand.  Just think about all the people who will be unemployed this holiday season, without work, struggling to pay their bills and completely unable to buy any sort of presents for their children.  Think of all the soldiers and their families who will have to celebrate the season without their loved ones.  Think about all those who have lost a loved one, in the war or otherwise who will never spend another holiday with that special someone.

This year, buy a few less gifts for your loved ones, and instead donate to a charitable organization that will help out those who are in real need this holiday season.  It is not too late.  Give a little or give a lot, but definitely give.  After all, giving is really what the true spirit behind Christmas really is, and although it may mean forgoing something you really want, your heart will be warmer on Christmas knowing that you made someone else’s day a little brighter.

Small Businesses May Need To Close

Wednesday, September 24th, 2008

Many small businesses will be hard pressed to survive all the financial turmoil in this current economic situation that we find ourselves in.  Many small businesses don’t provide necessary products and services but luxury ones.  Things like getting your hair and nails done, eating out, and having your clothes dry cleaned are happening less frequent as more and more people are cutting back, so these small businesses need money to keep themselves running and to be able to keep their employees working.  The problem is that normally they would just take out a small business loan to keep themselves a float through the tough times, but with the banking system in turmoil more and more banks are reluctant to lend money and without a source of income for just a few weeks there will be many people laid off and many businesses will be forced to close their doors for good.  The main problem with this is that for the most part the whole economy is slowing and therefore there will be no other jobs for these newly unemployed people, especially in the specialty areas where they have most of their training and experience.  This will create a major unemployment.
